Personal reflection:
When I am doing this exercise, applying knowledge about marketing, design, and art is very important to get a strong overall visual for this project. I always tell myself to not play by the rules, means I keep thinking about ideas that people don't usually think of. Delivering messages about awareness is also important. While it is easy to create a "looks fun" idea, I always think about the intention of the brainstormed idea and not just solely about decoration purposes. For the challenges, thinking about the relationship between concept and product is the most difficult. Since we need to generate profits too, we need to make eye catching products while having strong intention of creating the products. My strategy is to use action as subtle hints about the messages (hands-on activities), at the same time the students can also enjoy visiting our booth. I believe that this can be more efficient because actions speak louder than words. Additionally, this also teaches us that spreading awareness requires actions. Besides, I also asked some experienced individuals about how to make an engaging and information rich booth. Lastly, the combinational creativity method taught in class is also useful as we can see correlation in many ways be it colours, shape, actions, and words.
