7.Dihrran Chong Yun Siong 0139028
NGO Chosen:
UNICEF
Why this NGO?
This NGO has a prominent footprint globally. While covering
more than half of the SDG, they are focusing on children welfare (SDG1, 2, 3,
4, 10, 16). This creates a strong foundation for our current project as they
navigate our path towards helping children. Moreover, UNICEF also has dual
access, grassroot (working with communities etc.) and policy level. Therefore,
collaborating with UNICEF can make a bigger impact as they can shape better
policies in our country while doing their job as an advocating NGO. Lastly,
UNICEF also looking for young leaders to spread awareness, our group is a
perfect audience since we all of us are young adults, thus increase the
possibility of them to engage with us.
Current progress:
12 answered questions with citations out of 20 questions (I
am planning to add more)
My plan to do next:
I plan to look for connection between our university and
UNICEF focusing on past activities, collaborations, etc. Also, I’ll search for
experienced people who collaborated with UNICEF to ask for advice in terms of
monetization, how to properly reach them out, what do we need to prepare, and
how to make sure our engagement feel seen.
8. Ivy Mae Elizabeth Roland 0139166
NGO chosen: Grace Home
Why this NGO?:
I think elderly care is often overlooked or is just not a
common subject brought to light. I am interested to learn about what kind of
problems they face and what people can do about it to make sure senior citizens
are not forgotten and get the care they deserve.
Where is your progress now:
About 25 questions formed and 13 answered (I may add more)
What are you planning to do for your research:
I have already sent an email to the NGO, so I am currently
waiting for their reply. For now, I’m planning to refine my answers and see if
there are any more questions I can expand and do research on.
